Go-Tan is a company established by native Indonesians, a family that came to the Netherlands in the early 50’s. They originate from the city of Bandung which is located on the Indonesian island Java. Besides the Indonesian origin they also have Chinese roots. Combination of food cultures makes this family a living motto: A very foodloving family! A delicious meal plays an important role in the Go family. It is the oriental way of experiencing beautiful moments with people who surround you. A delicious meal enriches your memories shared with friends and the family. That is why Go-Tan considers a ‘to carefree enjoy a delicious meal altogether’ concept very serious. History It all began in 1954 when the father Frans Go begins with his grandfather in the garage “Go & Son” with cooking of Indonesian snacks and oriental treats. With all the sisters and brothers helping. They cooked Katjang Shanghai, boemboe Gado Gado, prawn crackers and Teng Teng. In 1955 they opened a restaurant in Amsterdam and their business began to grow. The meals were so popular that they decided to open a shop to sell their products, for example Santen en Seroendeng. From 1966 the production of Go Tan products continuous in the factory, considering the further successful growth. Today The products of Go-Tan are very popular in the Netherlands nowadays. The boemboes, wok sauces, prawn crackers and, of course the favourite of the Dutch housewives – Go Tan Sweet Chilli Sauce, and much more.
